Uganda Arts & Crafts Village 

Hidden away behind the National Theatre, this 'village' has a number of stalls selling handicrafts, such as cane ware, woodcarvings and small trinkets from around the country, all at quite reasonable prices if you bargain. Its located at the City Centre near National Theatre .

Exposure Africa

Next door to Daisy's Arcade, this is the biggest craft market in Kampala, with about 60 stalls offering crafts from Uganda and beyond. Prices vary wildly between stalls, so shop around and don't forget your bargaining hat. Much of the merchandise comes from neighbouring Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda despite what the sellers claim. Exposure Africa Uganda is located in the heart of Kampala city at Plot 15 Buganda Road.

Banana Boat

An expanding empire, this sophisticated craft shop now has three branches. The original has a few local items, but many of the smart pieces come from all over Africa, including cards, batik, jewellery, clothing and carvings. There is a similar branch in the Garden City Complex, plus a branch with an emphasis on homes and interiors in the newer Lugogo Mall, and the other point at Kisementi.

Nommo Gallery

When it comes to aesthetic art of the collectable sort, this gallery, higher on the hill above the Sheraton Hotel, is the best-known place in Kampala and doubles as a free museum for browsers. Nommo Gallery is located at 4 Victoria Ave, Nakasero, Kampala –Uganda

Uganda Crafts  2000

A nonprofit shop selling a wide variety of crafts, including goods made from leather, wood and cane, plus there's a likeable little open-air café. Its located at Plot 32-36, Bombo Road/P.O. Box 10698 Bombo Rd, Kampala after Teachers House.                         Entrance: Free

Nsambya Juakali Craft Market


There are a number of widely known craft markets in Kampala and craft stores in malls for the tourists where the mark up on crafts is even wider one such place is the Juakali Handicrafts Village in Nsambya. The crafts ‘village’ is found just off Gaba road past the furniture sellers but before Nsambya Road. Look for the big, white elephant statue on your right if you’re coming from town.  While it’s open every day the best day to go is Friday when the most vendors are there with their crafts. There are masks from Congo, carved giraffe, baskets, purses, baskets, dolls, sandstone and of course, beads. Mostly paper beds of every kind, size and quality.

Craft Box

Next to Hotel Triangle Buganda Rd Kampala‎ Craft Box is one of the most organized Craft Centers in Kampala and part of  its funds goes to charity under their programme Hands Of Hope.
