US envoy to Nepal Scott H DeLisi appointed as a new ambassador to Uganda, a statement issued by White House read, according to hamrakura.com

 

‘I will, of course, be saddened to leave Nepal earlier than the normal three year tenure if the Senate confirms me in this new role’, DeLisi has written in his Facebook status.

 

DeLisi has been serving as the US ambassador to Nepal since March 2010. Previous to his assignment in Nepal, he was the Director of Career Development and Assignments in the State Department’s Bureau of Human Resources.

 

During his 30-year career in the Foreign Service, Ambassador DeLisi has served as Ambassador to the State of Eritrea and as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Gaborone, Botswana.

 

DeLisi relplaces Ambassador Jerry P. Lanier who todate has a 28 years of service in the Department of State. Lanier also served as the Foreign Policy Advisor for U.S. Africa Command headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany.
